Data controller

Data we collect
Account: your email address and sign-in details when you create an account. Content you provide: the documents you upload (such as your titre de séjour, avis d'imposition, attestations or bank statements), any financial accounts you choose to connect (for example Stripe or Qonto, read-only), and your conversations with the assistant. Payments: when you subscribe or top up, our payment provider processes your card; we keep a record of your subscription and credit usage, never your full card number. Analytics: only with your consent, Google Analytics sets cookies to understand site traffic. Support: our chat widget may set technical cookies needed for it to work.
Browser extension
If you install the Paperasse browser extension, it operates only on the specific French government and administrative portals it supports (including impots.gouv.fr, the ANEF foreigners' portal, France-Visas and its appointment operators, Ameli, and préfecture sites). While you use it on one of these pages, it reads the content of the form you are working on so the assistant can help you understand and complete it; only on your explicit instruction and for a procedure you have authorised, it can fill in and navigate that form on your behalf using standard browser automation, with a visible indicator shown whenever it is active. The page content needed to assist you is sent securely over HTTPS to our service and processed by the same AI providers as the rest of Paperasse; it is never sold. The extension stores your sign-in session locally so it can act on your behalf; removing the extension from your browser deletes that local data. It never reads pages other than the supported portals, and only while you are actively using it.
Purpose & legal basis
We use your account and the content you provide to deliver the service — reading your documents, answering your questions and helping you complete your démarches (performance of our contract with you). Payment data is processed to run your subscription (contract). Analytics are used, with your consent, to improve the service. We never sell your data.
Processors
We rely on a small number of processors, each processing data only on our instructions: Supabase (application data storage), Anthropic and Mistral (AI model providers), Stripe (payments), our hosting providers, Resend (transactional email), Google Analytics (analytics, consent-gated) and our support-chat provider.
Cookies
No analytics cookies are set before you consent (Google Consent Mode). You can decline with no impact on using the site, and change your choice by clearing your browser cookies.
Retention
We keep your account and the content you provide for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and data at any time from the app or by emailing us (see our data-deletion page). Financial records required by tax and accounting law are retained by our payment provider for the legal period.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, object to and port your data. To exercise these, email contact@paperasse.ai. You may also lodge a complaint with the French regulator, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
